Bulldog Gym is proud to celebrate one of our own, Jeremy Shearer, who recently completed the challenging Sea to Sea Adventure Race in St. Augustine, Florida. This grueling multi-day race is not for the faint of heart—it covers over 300 miles across Florida, from the Gulf Coast in Cedar Key to the Atlantic Ocean in St. Augustine. Impressively, this marks Jeremy’s third consecutive year participating in the event.
About the Race
The Sea to Sea Expedition Race is a test of endurance, teamwork, and navigation. Participants tackle activities like trekking, mountain biking, kayaking, and orienteering, navigating solely by map and compass through diverse terrain including swamps, forests, rivers, and even urban areas. The race, held annually in late February, sees temperatures ranging from the chilly 30s to the warm 80s, adding another layer of difficulty.
Jeremy’s Incredible Journey
Jeremy, along with his teammates CJ Bevard and David Garrett, raced under the name “Code Red” and pushed themselves through 300 miles of trails, rivers, and checkpoints. Over four intense days, Jeremy’s team collected an impressive 44 of 72 checkpoints, averaging less than two hours of sleep per night!
Jeremy shared on social media, “Had an absolute blast traveling across the state of Florida with these two studs! On foot, canoe, and mountain bike we traveled 300 miles, collected 44 checkpoints with map and compass, and slept less than 7 hours total from Thursday 10 AM to Sunday 10 AM.”
The team, clearly hooked on adventure, has already committed to returning in 2026 under a new team name, “Sons of The King,” with Jeremy enthusiastically announcing, “Training starts tomorrow!”
