At the recent Monticello-Jasper Chamber annual dinner, Bulldog Gym unexpectedly found itself at the center of attention as the city of Monticello bestowed a remarkable honor upon us. With over 300 individuals in attendance, the following proclamation was read and presented to Bulldog Gym owners Russ and Renae Watts:
“A Proclamation In Recognition of Bulldog Gym’s 10th Anniversary
WHEREAS, entrepreneurs create businesses that are the heart and soul of our communities and the backbone of our economy; and
WHEREAS the City of Monticello recognizes the important role that an effective business model plays in the development of a thriving economy, including small business owners that have repeatedly demonstrated resilience and the ability to overcome challenges at every level, from economic downturns to global pandemics and beyond; and
WHEREAS Bulldog Gym stands as a testament to Sean “RockApe” Bowles’s determination and unwavering commitment to his dream; and
WHEREAS the Bulldog Gym family has worked tirelessly every day to support, retain, and expand the services that they offer the community; and
WHEREAS the City of Monticello supports and celebrates the efforts that Bulldog Gym has displayed in business growth, creating jobs, and ensuring that our community remains as vibrant tomorrow as it is today.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED ON FEBRUARY 17, 2024, I, Mayor Pro Tem Doug Currie, along with Mayor and City Council of Monticello hereby celebrates the 10th Anniversary of Bulldog Gym and extends our heartfelt thanks to Russ and Renae Watts and the entire Bulldog Gym team for their leadership and visionary efforts over the past 10 years.
