
Billie Jo Garcia, Certified Personal Trainer, NASM
BillieJo Garcia, aka Granny Hips, is our newest NASM certified personal trainer. BillieJo may be a newly certified trainer, but she is no stranger to the fitness community. She has been a thriving member of Bulldog gym for several years. Her passion for fun along with her big personality contributes to energetic morning sessions with her Bulldog Gym family. Fellow members find her spunky, inviting, and eager to help.
Her passion for fitness and healthier lifestyle living developed when she struggled to breathe and carry herself up to the summit of Mount Yonah on a birthday hike. While choking back tears and facing her own personal challenge of obesity, she developed the mantra “Train to Hike”. That mantra has carried her successfully for over 5 years and counting in her own personal fitness journey.
BillieJo brings outdoor enthusiasm to Bulldog Gym. She is an avid long distance Thru hiker of many trails along the South East. While walking along the Fiery Gizzard she earned her trail name Granny Hips due her careful approach when crossing boulder fields and other unstable trail terrain. She is well known and loved among many in the hiking community. She has walked thousands of miles through the mountains of Appalachia.
In recent adventures, her love for long distance and endurance, has led her towards Ultra Marathon running. She continues to train for 100 and 250 mile races. She practices running marathon distances in her spare time on weekends.
BillieJo believes Movement is Freedom. She specializes in strength, stability, and endurance training. She has cultivated a unique perspective and attitude towards achieving a successful fitness journey. She will help you develop a “Why” that is bigger than any number on a scale. Her mission is to help you reach your goals and live your life to the fullest potential no matter where you are in your journey.
